The sleep coaching exceeded our expectations by far. Not only did Marian help us with a plan that was easy to follow, she picked up on a number of major things that we were missing/were wrong about. Our daughter has been sleeping in her own room and through the night almost every night since the training started. Our daughter is so much happier now that she is sleeping more. Since she is sleeping more and she feels better we have also noticed improvements in her eating, less tantrums, and she also seems to be less affected by teeth pain in the night. I wish we had contacted Marian earlier! :)

Our daughter, 4 years old, has slept badly since she was a baby. Both falling asleep and staying asleep was difficult. After a long search among all kinds of people, from the general practitioner (no medical cause) to alternative healers (osteopath, mesologist, children's coach), we came to the conclusion that a large part is probably with us. How we interact with her and respond to her. After 4 years we were still in her room until she slept. Otherwise she would panic. In addition, she came to lie in bed with us at night, something we really didn't want! We felt that something had to be done, but we didn't have the tools ourselves to make a good plan and execute it with confidence. As a sleep coach, Marian offers very nice and personal guidance. Sleep training is really challenging, but because of Marian's empathetic working method she took the "sharp edges" off for us. We coached our daughter, Marian coached us. Marian is very involved: we could ask her anything and she took the time to reassure and encourage us during the sleep training. We wanted to help our daughter learn to fall asleep on her own and we succeeded! So nice to see how we achieved this together in a short time. After about six years of fumbling around, it was really time to make sure we all got a good night's sleep. Our son (age 6) and daughter (age 3) rarely slept through the night, putting them to bed was a huge hassle, the nights were restless and the mornings very early. We could not imagine that we would have results after just two weeks, but nothing was further from the truth. Before we started sleep training, our daughter would not sleep through and we took her to our bed halfway through the night. She could not sleep without our help and as soon as we released her hand (to go out of the room), she became restless. Our daughter was practically two when we started the training and Marian had already indicated that it could be spicy. It did. But we felt tremendously supported and understood, which made persevering easy. Unbelievable how quickly a change can occur. After the training - of two weeks - we can put our daughter away after the bedroutine and leave the room without any problems, she sleeps through and all night in her own bed. Our son has slept very badly since birth. Very variable during the day and in the evening and night he often woke up every hour. A bottle then helped to let him sleep for 2 hours at the most. Rocking to sleep also often took a long time. We tried everything, but at one point we were so tired that we really didn't know what to do anymore. We doubted for a long time whether 7 months was not too young to hire a sleep coach…. After the very nice introduction to Marian, all our doubts disappeared. Marian heard our frustration and doubts. She mapped out our son well and came up with a good and realistic plan. A few small adjustments already ensured a better night sleep and after 3 days he slept through from 6.30 pm to 6 am. Our son could only fall asleep with our help, in our arms or next to us if he was in bed with us. If we put him in his own bed he would wake up after 20 minutes and all his naps during the day were in the stroller. After a super nice intake with Marian, she made a schedule for us, we started working. We expected to see results after 1 or 2 weeks, but after 3 days we saw results and our son slept through the night! He was also able to fall asleep on his own very quickly and no longer needed our help. The afternoon naps also went super well after about a week and from the moment we started the sleep training, he never slept between us or in his stroller again. Marian helped us break through our little man's sleep challenge. He could fall asleep fine in the evening but from 11 pm he became restless and woke often, which eventually resulted in sleeping in bed with mom and dad. You also need your own sleep! After I followed a workshop with Marian and read the raving reviews about her, the decision was made quickly! What the reviews showed me was exactly what I wished for our family. Because we needed sleep. Our daughter slept restlessly and during the night she 'wanted' a lot from us. We often never knew exactly what, and it took a lot of energy to get her to sleep through the night. This resulted in broken nights and lack of sleep during the day. We are now a month further (she was sick in between and then we stopped for a while) and already very satisfied with how things are going now. Our 14 month-old daughter Vesper woke up 4 to 5 times during the night. We couldn't go back to sleep on our own without a bottle, rocking her, or in bed between us. The contact with Marian was very pleasant. We could tell her everything, it felt familiar and she took all the time to find out everything about Vesper (and her sleeping habits) and us. She listens very well, we really felt heard. She made a very clear sleeping plan for Vesper so that we knew what we could do to teach Vesper to fall asleep on her own. Before we started the sleep training, our 2.5-year-old son had a lot of sleeping problems. He often skipped his afternoon nap, in the evening he had trouble falling asleep and in the night he often woke up and was difficult to get back into bed. Harvey slept in our bed, we gave several bottles a night and put his pacifier back in his mouth about every hour. In short, our nights were busy. Of course we knew we weren't doing it right and we also knew that sleeping in his own bed would help. But we weren't sure where to start. Marian has taken us into the wonderful world of sleeping in an accessible way and has lovingly explained to us that what we do is not necessarily very helpful. We started step by step, filling in the log every morning and then quickly getting feedback for the upcoming night. He had a few tough nights and also a few relapses, but the result is definitely there; A super happy baby who sleeps from 19: 00 to approximately 6:30 a.m. Truly beyond all our expectations! What we experienced as very pleasant is the daily contact and the space that was available for questions. I think I asked the same question 5 times in different ways but it didn't matter to Marian. She gave us all the time and space and was also just clear and honest (we do need it as 2 stubborn people). Long story short. I would recommend it to everyone because a good night's sleep cannot be expressed in money. This investment pays for itself triple in a happy and well-rested family!

Our 3 year old son hasn’t been sleeping well for some time now. Things went from bad to worse and this ended in the situation where he was in bed with us almost every night. If we didn't accept that, he would get furious and scream everyone awake. Once that we were really done with it, we took the 'big' step to start working with Marian. In hindsight, this was the best choice; I actually didn't want to do it, it still feels like 'failure' if you call in external help. Now that we are 5 weeks later, I know that we could not have done this ourselves, even though the schedule, rules and method are actually quite simple. From never sleeping alone, never going to sleep alone and waking up many times a night, we put him in bed in 30 minutes in the evening, and we have to get out now and then at night because he wakes up from ' normal things. A world of difference within 3 weeks! Do it, do it, do it!!!!

Our daughter slept very little since birth and most of all wanted to be with someone. With partly sleeping together, we have been able to deal with that to some extent and enjoyed it as well! But after 1.5 years we noticed that it did not work anymore because nobody was sleeping well. Marian listened to our situation without judgment and offered different strategies without pushing us. This allowed us to choose what suited us and our daughter. Still on the advice of Marian, we went for the chair method. After 2 days we already broke the pattern! Our son woke up several times a night, we got into disagreements about what to do at those times because structurally we couldn't sleep longer than 4-5 hours in a row. In addition, he only slept in the box during the day and not in his own bed. Marian has given us tools on how to deal with waking up at night and sleeping in his own bed. Marian has been a great help to us and the sleep training has worked extremely well. We are now more than two months later and our 3-year-old son usually sleeps through the night in his own bed. Incredible! Within three days, our 7-month-old baby went to bed without crying and learned to sleep independently. A difference of day and night.
When our baby was 5 months old, he got sick for the first time after his vaccinations. We then had a period of two months with broken nights, bottled milk again and rocking at night. Putting it down immediately resulted in crying and if we were lucky he would go to sleep. Once woke up twice and then three or four times a night. Then we knew we had to get help and we got it from Marian. A nice personal conversation and a plan of action. Our overtired baby needed a new rhythm and had to learn to fall asleep on his own when he woke up. We went to work with fixed bedtimes and to an earlier bedtime of 6:00 PM. We were 100% committed to making this happen so we did exactly as Marian suggested. With the interval method, our son would learn to fall asleep on his own. The first day and evening was as expected howling..he finally fell asleep at 8pm and slept through until 7am..on the first night of sleep training! Incredible. Then we knew it would be okay and it gave us courage for the days after. In fact, it got better every day. Less and less crying and even after a few days no crying or wheezing when put to bed. What a relief this was. And we can function again and are super happy with all the info we have received! Thank you Marian!

We are very happy with Marian's sleep coaching. Our 9 month old daughter couldn't fall asleep on her own. She only fell asleep at the breast, when we rocked her or in the pram. She hardly ever slept through the night. We were a bit skeptical beforehand whether sleep coaching would have an effect, but after only 3 days we noticed a huge difference. Within 1 week she fell asleep on her own, with little or no crying. She now also sleeps through the night and takes 2 very good, long naps during the day. Our daughter, who is almost 3 years old, has been going to bed with great crying/screaming for a few months now. The whole going to bed ritual took at least an hour and before she fell asleep we were busy until late. Her sleep was also very restless with a lot of waking up in between to eventually end up in bed with us. After many well-intentioned advice, consulted websites and fiddled with various "solutions" it was ready. We were all so tired and stressed... Something had to be done. Via via we came to Marian. We had a lot of trouble getting our son to sleep. He was unable to fall asleep on his own. The result is a lot of frustration and crying. We found it difficult to tell if there was really a problem but it got worse and we saw babies around us that you could just put down and fall asleep. We tried methods ourselves with running away and letting them cry, but this went against our feelings and we didn't feel unhappy about this ourselves. Besides that, it really didn't help us. So we wanted a kinder way to help him sleep. That's how we came to the sleep coach. Marian is very open, helpful and quick. She makes a nice plan based on our wishes. She gives very fast and targeted feedback so that you can take really big steps in two weeks. After a few days, our son was able to fall asleep on his own. We had to coach him and it took a while but there was progress. He could! But was it tough and Marian supported us and gave us the right feedback to keep going and not to fall back. He can now go to sleep on his own, sometimes faster than other times and sometimes not yet, but that's okay and we're still working on it. He no longer needs feeding at night and even sleeps around the clock most nights.

Our daughter Jalou has suffered from short nights for months. Sleeping late, waking up early, tired during the day and grumpy, resulting in a lot of misunderstanding and frustration at home. Before the sleep coaching started, we often had no free time in the evening. It could take until 9:30 pm before it would be quiet - and the youngest only fell asleep when he was lying next to us. We were tired during the day, because he often woke up around 3 or 4 am, and only fell back asleep with us. The coaching has helped us to choose a new sleeping habit together. To work on a fixed structure and more consistency for the children. It works. Our 10-month-old son woke up several times a night and then briefly needed us to get back to sleep. After 1 day of sleep training, he already managed to fall asleep on his own! After 2 weeks we completed the sleeptraining with the desired result: our daughter stays in her bed and sleeps through the night! The sleep coaching did not teach us so much new methods (we had tried a lot ourselves), but what made the difference is that we were fully guided in the correct application of the most suitable method. We have learned to be (really) consistent, what to pay extra attention to and how to approach situations. These are tools / insights that we can use every time, if necessary (now also with our 1.5 year old son). The contact with Marian was very nice and smooth and the coaching from Marian really made the difference for us. If only we had done this (much) sooner!

After 14 months with short and broken nights (read: falling asleep very late and 4-6 times per night awake), we decided to call in some help with learning our daughter to fall asleep by herself. Besides that, I also found it hard to stop with the breastfeeding. Very soon we got our evenings and night sleep back with the help of Marian! Near despair we called Marian. For more than a year we shared our bed with Luuk, who sometimes would wake up multiple times (up to 6 times) a night for a feed. We had the intake within a week, and we could start the same evening. That first night was very difficult, but very soon Luuk started to learn how to sleep. And then, he suddenly slept in his own bed, in his own room, in a sleeping bag and now falls asleep by himself. What a relief and what breathing space we have again! When we started the sleeptraining, our daughter just turned 3 years and since 5 months she has a brother. She slept very bad for the last 5 months. Everything was a challenge; bringing her to bed took a long time, she stayed awake very long, she woke up multiple times during the night and every day started too early. We did not have sleeping problems with our youngest but with his elderly sister! The sleeptraining helped us because we were too tired to stick to a routine ourselves. Marian created a clear plan for us, helped us to stay consistent and the logbook forced us to look at our own routines and habits. It took 3 weeks to break the patterns with our daughter, patterns that Marian noticed already in the beginning. We got encouraging feedback every morning via WhatsApp, which made it easier to push on for another day. The result is a miracle: she asks us whether she can go to bed, lays down nice and calm and sleeps through the night. The best thing for us is that her bed seems to be a place that she likes instead of a place filled with struggles and unrest.

Pepijn was since a couple of months very restless in the night, he woke up often and there were so many things we had to do to get him to fall asleep. When he also began to wake in the morning around 4/5 AM we called Marian. Marian takes a lot of time for a thoroughly intake and we really had a big say in the approach, which was nice for us. After a few nights of the sleeptraining we noticed result, but in the end it took over 2 weeks before he really was in a good rhythm with no nightwakings and waking up after 6 am. After 2 weeks we felt a bit discouraged, after not having the best result. It is very nice that Marian stays close to you and coaches you to stay on the right track. We finished the sleeptraining and we are not totally there yet. He still wakes up a little before 6 am and we hope that this will slowly gets better. After restless months and a lot of effort to get our baby to sleep, finally he fell asleep by himself – around the age of 5 months. We are so happy that we ended up with Marian! Our son has gone through a long hospital period that did not positively impact his sleeping pattern. We just could not get grip on the transition from 2 naps to 1 nap. After trying everything we started working with Marian. The “it’s just a phase and it will pass by” phase was long behind us. He would fall asleep at different times, the duration of the naps varied and was often too short which made it a struggle for him to get through the day. Of course, there are still exceptions now, but in general he now sleeps minimal 1,5 hours during his nap and he looks well-rested again. Positive changes were already visible after a few days, but to reach this you do have to step over your (and you child’s) boundaries. It was hard working for all parties and Marian is really the strong motivator that you need so hard to stay consistent and keep the faith. Marian is a very nice and attentive lady to work with. She responds fast and if needed multiple times per day. She is really there for you, listens very well and tries to let you see the positive side. And that is sometimes hard after you have been struggling with your child’s sleep for so long. We are very happy with Marian!

Our son could not fall asleep by himself. For every nap and sleep during the night he needed to be rocked into sleep, also when he woke up during his naps and night sleep. And this happened very often. With the coaching of Marian he learnt within a day to sleep by himself and in his own bed. After 3 days he slept for the first time through the night. We did not dare to dream of that before! Next to that he is much more relaxed during the day. As well as at daycare, where before sleeptraining he found it hard to get used to daycare, it goes much better now. Marian is very involved, flexible in making appointments and gives clear advice. Our son has had sleeping problems on and off since he was born. First because of a cow milk allergy, after that because of ear problems. After he got tubes in his ear sleep was no problem for a while, until last summer. He went back to bad sleeping, but now there was no medical cause. Falling asleep was ok, but somewhere between midnight and 2 am he woke up and was awake until the early morning (5 am). For months we slept just a few hours per night. We were exhausted. In the end, we got into contact with Marian. A very nice experience and with her coaching we learnt our son to sleep during the night. The process went faster than we expected and Marian gave us a lot of tips and tricks, also for the future. I would recommend her to anyone who has children that don’t sleep well.

My boyfriend and I wanted sleeptraining for our (second) daughter, because she was awake for at least an hour after feeding her in the night and she woke up very early (way before 6 o’clock) in the morning. Our goal was for her to fall asleep by herself, without our help. No rocking, holding hands, give the pacifier etc. The first 4 days were pretty hard (to not go there immediately when she cried), but after that it became easier and easier to follow the intervals. And now she sleeps without any help, even without a pacifier. She also falls asleep directly after the night feeding. She wakes up at 6 o’clock instead of earlier. We would love her to sleep a little longer, so we will continue training her. Marian helped us enormous, of course with her plan as well as through her daily coaching. Friendly but clear and leaving the choices with us but giving advice on what would work the best. I recommend everybody to work with her if you experience sleep “problems” with your child. It really helps, I would do it right away and not wait too long.

Our second son developed into a restless baby, he cried a lot and did not manage to fall asleep without us. His naps during the day were short, lacked rhythm and during the night we had to go to him very often. We looked for help with Marian. Our goal was to get him in a normal sleep rhythm, that would make him a happier baby and would also provide us with more sleep. When we started the sleep training our baby was 6 months old and woke up every 30 minutes to 2 hours. Getting her (back) to sleep meant extensive rocking or nursing. Her dad was camping out next to her on a mattress every night. Her mom never left the house in the evening in case she needed nursing to calm done. We were completely exhausted. At the end of the 2-week program, we put her in her bed awake, give her a kiss and leave the room. She falls asleep by herself within minutes. Sometimes she still wakes up at night but can often put herself back to sleep or just needs a little bit of verbal reassurance from us. Our lives have completely changed. We are well rested, we have our evenings back and we sleep in the same bed again. It now feels like we can really enjoy our life as a family. We would definitely recommend her as a sleep coach. She is a very warm and compassionate person that clearly cares about babies (and parents!). She helped us stay on track and trust ourselves and our daughter. We couldn’t be happier with Marian and the sleep coaching program we went through with her. Our daughter often woke up 3 or 4 times a night, only fell asleep while breastfeeding, and was virtually unable to sleep at daycare (20 minutes all day). We already saw results after about 3 days. This was pretty unbelievable. Where she normally woke every 45 min (if you were lucky, otherwise even more often) and ended up in our bed more often, she was able to sleep through the whole night for the first time after a few days of sleeptraining! Really bizarre. It went back and forth in the beginning; a few days it went great and then a few days a bit less. But the last 4 night were awesome, she slept 12 hours straight! Overall we have more control over the situation when our daughter cries again in the evening or the night. We do now that she is able to do it herself. The fact that she can do it, comforts us. Sometimes it is hard and you have to be sharp to not fall back in old patterns, but it is so worth it! Marian is a nice and clear coach. She is very compassionate and shows understanding for the situation. At the same time she finds it important that you are dedicated and really want to go for change. And that is fair! That is the only way to make sure this really works in the end. And it clearly does : )

We did not expect it, but our children sleep longer, better and more consistent. They are both quiet and go to sleep at 7 pm. That is a dream that did not seem realistic before we started. He was often awake at 9 pm (or even later) and ran around in the living room. The result was that the next day he was actually too tired to go to daycare. And next to that the daily crying of tired toddler. Mostly to also give the youngest one some rest, we decided that dad was going to sleep with his son in the guest bedroom. We did this for almost 3 months. After 2 weeks of sleeptraining everybody sleeps back in his own bed again and our son goes to bed 2 hours earlier than before. The most important thing is that we have our sweet and happy son back. Sometimes it was very tough, because it felt not natural to be so strict and set boundaries. At the same time, you realize that it is exactly this lack of discipline that brought us in this situation. Every day we got an audio-message with a pep-talk and feedback on the previous 24 hours, answers to all our questions and tips for the coming days. The daily messages gave us the opportunity to adjust our behavior to the new situation during the 2 weeks of sleeptraining; flexible customization!
